Our History

Wahoo Baptist Church in Bushnell, FL, was officially founded in 1903. Over the years, it has grown from a small gathering of local believers into a thriving church committed to both spiritual and community outreach. The church has a rich history of service, rooted in a desire to see God move in the community. Today, it continues to follow that mission, serving as a beacon of faith and support in the area while maintaining traditional values and biblical teachings.

Our Mission

At Wahoo Baptist Church, our mission is to glorify God by making disciples of all nations. We are committed to sharing the gospel, nurturing believers, and serving others with love and compassion. Through our various ministries and outreach programs, we strive to impact lives and transform communities for the glory of God.

Our Core Values

Our core values define who we are as a church. We are dedicated to upholding the authority of the Bible, fostering a culture of prayer, embracing diversity, and cultivating a spirit of generosity. These values guide our decisions, actions, and interactions as we seek to honor God and reflect His love to the world.

Our Beliefs

God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe, existing eternally in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and one God.

Genesis 1:1,26-27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus

Jesus is the Son of God, co-equal with the Father. He lived a sinless life, died as a sacrifice for humanity’s sins, rose from the dead, ascended to Heaven, and will return to reign as King.

Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; Hebrews 4:14-15;

1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and Son. He makes people aware of their need for Christ, lives in believers, empowers them, and gives spiritual gifts. Christians are called to live under His guidance.

John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8;

Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word, written by human authors under the Holy Spirit’s guidance. It is the ultimate truth, without error, and the source of Christian beliefs and life.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105

Human
Beings

People are created in God’s image with the potential for good, but are marred by sin, which separates them from God and brings problems.

Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23;

Isaiah 59:1-2

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift, accepted through faith in Jesus Christ. Self-effort cannot earn salvation; only through faith in Christ can we be saved and receive eternal life.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9;

John 14:6; Romans 5:1

Eternal Security

True believers are secure in their salvation for eternity, maintained by God’s grace and power. Salvation cannot be lost if it is genuine.

John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12;

Hebrews 7:25

Eternity

Everyone will exist forever, either separated from God (Hell) or in eternal union with Him (Heaven). Both are real places of eternal existence.

Matthew 25:46; John 3:16
